I’ve been thinking a lot about the systemic issues in play here and how they affect cases like Romar Burden’s. It’s incredibly frustrating that in 2019, over 300 homicides happened in Baltimore, and many of them, like Romar’s, still remain unsolved. It makes me wonder about the resources and the strategies being deployed—or the lack thereof. We hear about gun trafficking from other states, especially along the I-95 corridor, but what are the concrete steps being taken to stop this? Romar’s mother, Rosheda, having lost two sons, must be enduring unimaginable pain, and it feels like the city keeps repeating this devastating cycle. It’s crucial that we all demand more accountability and effective action from the authorities to put an end to this. Families deserve closure, and our communities deserve safety and peace.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the Romar Burden case closely, and something that's been on my mind is the community aspect of this tragedy. Glynwood Avenue, where Romar was found, has seen so much violence over the years. It's like this cycle of trauma that keeps repeating, and the impact it must have on the neighborhood is unimaginable.
I keep thinking about the kids growing up in that area. I mean, how do they process living in a place where this kind of violence is almost expected? It's not just about enforcing laws but also about healing these communities and providing them with resources so they can move past the fear and loss. Romar's story is just one of many, but each one represents families and neighborhoods shattered by violence.
Hoping and praying for some justice and relief for Romar's family and for some kind of breakthrough that can bring peace to these areas. ?
Take care, everyone.
