I’ve been thinking a lot about Ervin D. Rice’s case recently. I wasn’t lucky enough to have known him personally, but from everything I've read and heard, he seemed like an incredible person who left a profound mark on those around him. His murder at W Jefferson Street is such a haunting mystery; how does someone just vanish into the crowd after doing something so terrible?
It’s deeply unsettling to know that, despite the best efforts of the Louisville Metro Police Department, Ervin's family is still waiting for answers all these years later. I can’t even imagine the pain they endure not having closure.
If anyone out there knows anything, even the smallest detail, it could help bring them peace. Sometimes it might not seem like much, but a tiny puzzle piece might be exactly what the investigation needs to make sense of it all. Let's keep Ervin in our thoughts and do what we can to spread awareness in hopes of finally getting justice for him and his loved ones.
