I've been following Cordelle Bruce's case, and my heart goes out to his family. It's just so painful to see how a senseless argument over a failed marijuana sale led to such devastating losses. I was reading about how Cordelle was simply trying to walk away, yet Brown and Horton chased him down. It's really hard to wrap my head around the level of rage that must have driven those actions. The fact that they pursued him in a vehicle shows such a chilling intent. It’s difficult not to think about what could have been had the argument de-escalated, or if Cordelle had managed to get to a safe place. My thoughts are with his loved ones who have had to endure not just his loss, but also the later events involving his brother Cornelius. Such an unimaginable chain of tragedy. I hope this case prompts more discussions around intervention and resolution methods to prevent these cycles of violence.
