I’ve been following the tragic case of Jose Romero-Salgado, and my heart truly goes out to his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. I was thinking about the community’s role in situations like this—how can we come together to prevent senseless violence among our youth? It’s so disturbing that such young lives are involved on both sides of this tragedy. I remember reading about neighborhood workshops or community mediators that focus on conflict resolution and wonder if something like that could have changed the outcome here. It’s just so disheartening to see promising futures cut short and lives altered forever. I'm hoping the community can learn and grow from this devastating event to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
