Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that COVID-19 had on the way we mourned Asmar Rashad Holland's passing. I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for his family and friends to navigate their grief while being restricted by the pandemic. The necessity to hold a virtual service must have added another layer of distance to an already unimaginable loss. It's tough enough to say goodbye, but to do so without the physical presence of a supportive community feels extra heavy.
For those who knew Asmar or attended the service online, did this change anything for you in terms of closure? I keep wondering how the digital aspect might have altered the grieving process for everyone involved. It’s yet another dimension to consider in the midst of dealing with violence and loss in a city like Baltimore. ?
Thinking of Asmar's loved ones and everyone affected during these challenging times. Stay safe, everyone.
