Wow, I just stumbled across this case and my heart goes out to Thomas Ashley's family. What an unimaginable loss, especially so close to home. I can't imagine the pain his mother must have felt finding out the next day. Something that's really bugging me is how this detective, Kyle Willet, was involved in some scandal and how it likely sidetracked the case. I mean, if the person tasked with finding justice for your loved one gets caught up in their own mess, how do you regain faith in the system? Kudos to Nicole for forgiving, but it’s hard to see how she can move forward without that closure. Has anyone been following or aware of any recent developments? It's been such a long time; I hope someone somewhere has the courage to come forward with solid information.

I've been following Thomas Ashley's case and something that's been on my mind a lot is that argument he had over the phone on the night he was killed. It's so frustrating to think this detail might hold a crucial clue, but it seems like nothing ever came of it. I can't imagine how hard it must be for Nicole, knowing there might be answers out there yet feeling stuck with nothing concrete to go on.
