I've been following the case of Devon A. Little, and something that's been on my mind is the larger problem of unsolved shootings in Baltimore. It's horrifying to think about how many families, like Devon's, are left without answers because of the high case loads and overstretched resources the police seem to be dealing with. Devon's story is one of resilience; surviving a headshot and then facing a wrongful conviction, only to be met with an untimely end is almost inconceivable. For his family, especially his mom, Janice, this journey must feel incredibly isolating and frustrating. It makes you wonder what more can be done to hold those responsible accountable and how the system can be improved so that people like Devon and the other victims in Baltimore don't become just another statistic. To anyone else studying this case, what steps do you think could be taken to better support victims and families?
