I was reading about Gabriel Gutierrez's case, and I can't stop thinking about the terrifying experience he must have gone through that night on the I-94. Being in a vehicle in what should be a safe space, yet unexpectedly becoming a target of violence, is something that shouldn't happen to anyone. It's deeply unnerving to think about how dangerous the freeways have become, not just in San Diego but elsewhere too. I'm wondering if anyone else finds it shocking how little progress seems to be made in these types of cases. What do you think could be done to make highways safer? It seems like an uphill battle, but surely there's a way to prevent these senseless acts. My thoughts are with Gabriel's family and friends — no one should have to endure such a loss.
