I just came across some information on the murder of Leslie Jerome Gibson and wanted to share something I found intriguing yet deeply unsettling about the whole incident. In the security footage from that day, it wasn’t just the shooting itself that's haunting but the detail of how the car sped off, running a stop sign at Pulaski and Lexington Streets. It’s chilling to think about how desperate and reckless that action was, almost like an indicator of the chaos that the shooters were creating not just in the immediate area but in the broader community as well. I can't stop thinking about Leslie and the other victims’ families who have to live with this randomness. It's frustrating how these patterns of violence are repeating themselves despite so many community efforts. Mayor Scott and Commissioner Harrison seem sincere in their commitment, but it makes me wonder how far we really are from effectively turning the tide on this violence. Every new incident like this one just reminds us of how difficult that battle is. My heart goes out to all those impacted by this tragedy. I hope that justice is served and that one day soon, communities like West Baltimore can feel safe again.
