Hey, I found some updates on this case: Following a jury trial in the Circuit Court for Harford County, Alexander was convicted of several offenses, including voluntary manslaughter, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, wearing, carrying, or transporting a handgun, possession of ammunition, and possession of a firearm by a disqualified person.

Alexander appealed his convictions, arguing that the evidence was insufficient to support the verdicts and that the trial court erred by not merging his first-degree assault conviction into his voluntary manslaughter conviction for sentencing purposes. In an unreported opinion filed on September 6, 2024, the Appellate Court of Maryland affirmed the convictions but agreed that the trial court should have merged the first-degree assault conviction into the voluntary manslaughter conviction. As a result, the appellate court vacated the sentence for first-degree assault while leaving the other convictions and sentences intact.

As of the latest available information, Alexander remains incarcerated, serving his sentence for the remaining convictions.

I’ve been following the case of O'Brien K. Butler, and I can't stop thinking about the impact on his friends and family. Losing someone in such a violent manner must be incredibly hard to process. I came across a post mentioning a community vigil that was held in his honor, and it seems like the neighborhood really came together to support one another.
It's moments like these that remind me of the strength found in community ties. If anyone hears about a memorial fund or ways to support the family through this tough time, please share here. They deserve all the love and support we can offer during such a devastating time.
I've been thinking about the role of community relationships in situations like the tragedy involving O'Brien K. Butler. How did things escalate so quickly that night between O'Brien and Carl Alexander? It’s hard to believe things could reach such a devastating end. It makes me wonder about the history between them and if there were any signs leading up to this tragic moment. I know many people in tight-knit communities have overlapping paths, and sometimes past tensions boil over. Did anyone in Edgewood see this coming? My heart goes out to O'Brien’s family and friends—such an unimaginable loss. It’s difficult to grasp how one moment can change so many lives forever. If anyone has further insights or updates, please share. Let's keep the memory of O'Brien alive by understanding how we can prevent such tragedies.
Butler broke into the house after him and Alexander got into a fight. He returned, uninvited and broke the door in. His gf is seen in another video posted on Alexander's youtube page assisting Butler, looking out for the cops. Alexander was protecting the a woman and her child inside the house. So technically, Alexander was stopping a crime. Also, Butlers baby mom was the leasing manager of the complex and got that woman evicted illegally.
