I recently came across Sean Lee Banks' case while looking into unsolved crimes in Oakland, and it really stuck with me. He was so young, just 19, with his whole life ahead of him, and to have it cut short like that is just beyond tragic. What really bothers me is the lack of information. It seems like nobody has anything concrete on who did this or why. The fact that witnesses heard the shots but couldn't provide more details must be so frustrating for Sean's family. I can't imagine the pain of not knowing who took away their loved one. I wonder if there are more people out there who saw something but haven't come forward yet, maybe out of fear or something else. It's just so sad to see this as one of so many unsolved cases in Oakland. What can we do as a community to help bring closure to Sean’s family and others in similar situations?

Has anyone else been following the case of Sean Lee Banks? I just keep coming back to the fact that there were multiple witnesses who heard the gunshots but none that could give any solid details about the suspect. It seems so frustrating for everyone, especially Sean’s loved ones, who are still without answers years later. It must be incredibly difficult knowing he was just targeted and taken away from them like that with still no closure. I wonder if the neighborhood or community around where he was shot had surveillance cameras or if any footage has ever been found? It just feels like there has to be something out there that can finally help identify who did this. Oakland had a really rough year in 2016, and it's hard not to feel for all the families impacted. Keeping Sean's family in my thoughts, hoping they eventually find the justice they need.

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the impact of gang violence in Oakland, especially since I heard about Sean Lee Banks' murder back in 2016. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, not only losing a loved one in such a sudden and violent way but also dealing with the fact that his case is still unsolved. It's just so unfair. One thing that's been bothering me is how these cases often lack witness cooperation or information, leaving families in this limbo of not knowing. I totally get that people might be afraid to speak up given the fear of retaliation, but it really traps us in this cycle of silence. I wonder what it would take to see some real change in tackling these unsolved cases. Maybe building stronger community relationships with law enforcement could help? Just throwing it out there. Sending lots of strength to Sean's family and anyone in Oakland affected by this ongoing violence. Stay safe, everyone.
