He has several distinguishing tattoos, including his middle name "Cooper," a spiderweb, a dragon, skulls, and a Bengal tiger on his arms and right shoulder. His nickname was "Coopie."
In January 2021, human remains were discovered in a wooded area in Micco, not far from where Griggs was last seen. At the time of the discovery, law enforcement officials stated that the remains were male and had been there for a significant period. This led to speculation that the remains could be those of Charles Cooper Griggs. However, authorities announced that an autopsy would be required to make a positive identification. There have been no subsequent public announcements confirming the identity of the remains or any connection to the Griggs case.
