At the time, McLaughlin was a rap artist performing under the stage names "Rob Francis" and "Royal Francis" and was preparing for an upcoming show in Georgia, which he would not have wanted to miss.
McLaughlin had a traumatic brain injury from a car accident in 2014, which had caused temporary memory loss, but he had since recovered fully. His family noted that his behavior leading up to his disappearance was normal. Robert was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, and he had tattoos on both forearms. He also had a gold tooth, a chipped front tooth, and long dreadlocks. Despite efforts by authorities and his family, no significant leads have emerged, and his case remains unsolved.
