Nehemiah Omari Weedon was born on August 13, 2014, while his mother, Kristin Ashley Branch, was incarcerated at the Duval County Jail in Jacksonville, Florida. Shortly after his birth, Nehemiah was handed over to his father, Dwayne Curtis Weedon Jr., who was living in a Jacksonville homeless shelter with their two older children. Nehemiah was only one day old when he went missing, last seen on August 14, 2014.
In the months following Nehemiah's disappearance, Dwayne Weedon provided conflicting information regarding the baby’s whereabouts. He told a caseworker that Nehemiah had been sent to live with an out-of-state relative. However, when Branch was released from jail in November 2015 and inquired about her son, Dwayne claimed that Nehemiah was staying with an aunt in New Jersey. Growing suspicious of these inconsistent stories, Branch contacted authorities in December 2015.
Investigators discovered that Nehemiah had never been with any of Dwayne's relatives. By early 2016, police suspected that Nehemiah had been dead since at least October 2014. Dwayne Weedon was eventually arrested on unrelated charges of robbery and burglary but never formally charged in connection with his son's disappearance. Authorities have not disclosed why they believe Nehemiah is deceased, and the baby’s remains have never been found. Dwayne Weedon later died in 2021 while serving a prison sentence for unrelated crimes. Nehemiah's case remains unsolved, and he is still listed as a missing person.Last Seen: Aug 13, 2014
