I’ve been following the Darrion Herring case, and something keeps bothering me about the police response. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through, especially with the circumstances surrounding that tragic day. I've seen reports that mention a uniformed officer witnessed the initial threats yet didn't intervene. How is that even possible? I understand that the situation escalated quickly, but shouldn't there be protocols for officers to step in when tensions start rising? Did they not see the seriousness of the threat?
It’s absolutely devastating to think that Darrion was trying to calm the situation down and still ended up losing his life in such a senseless way.
