Has anyone looked into whether Mariano might have been in contact with anyone outside the juvenile facility before he ran away? He was only 16 and probably scared and confused in a new place. I wonder if he had friends or family nearby who might have helped him or if there were people he could trust in the area. It seems odd that he vanished without a trace, especially if he was trying to head back to Mexicali. Maybe someone gave him a ride or he had arranged to meet someone as soon as he got out? It's been so long, and it's crucial to think about these potential connections. Anyone have thoughts or additional info on this angle?
