I can't stop thinking about the vigil that was held for Michael Abey. It’s clear he was loved by so many in the community. It was moving to see people gather not just to remember him, but to highlight the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness. Heather Crawford did a beautiful job organizing it. She knew Michael as a gentle soul, and it’s heartbreaking that his life was taken so violently. It’s a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by those without stable housing. I truly hope the spotlight placed on Michael's story leads to real changes and better protection for people in similar situations. If anyone attended the vigil and would like to share their experience or more about Michael's life, I'd really appreciate it. We must continue these conversations to keep his memory alive and advocate for justice and change. If you have any information about what happened, please consider reaching out to the police.
