I'm truly saddened to think about the ripple effect this tragedy had on John Henry Knight's community and loved ones. I was reading about Gaskins' associate, Walter Neely, and it's disturbing how someone could witness such horrific acts and remain silent for any period of time. It makes you wonder about the kind of fear or control Gaskins might have had over those around him. I can't imagine the pain the Knight family must have endured waiting for answers. Finding some closure through Neely's admissions must have been bittersweet, knowing that their ordeal wouldn't have a simple resolution or bring John back. It’s incredibly important to remember the victims like John and ensure stories like his aren't forgotten in the shadows of Gaskins' notoriety.
