Has anyone else been following the life story of the suspect after his acquittal? It’s so hard to wrap my head around how someone could evade justice in such a serious case and then go on to commit more violent crimes. It’s like there’s a pattern there that was completely missed, and two more families ended up in pain because of it. Don’t get me wrong, the justice system has its challenges, but this feels like a colossal failure on so many levels. Thinking about Patrolman Peeples’ family and the additional victims… it’s tragic how one bad decision after another led to so much more suffering.
