Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the circumstances surrounding the tragic murder of Deputy Sheriff Donald Ray Hayes, and something that really stands out to me is the bravery he demonstrated that day. I want to take a moment to reflect on his actions. While the other deputies approached the suspect’s house from the front, Deputy Hayes went around back, clearly understanding the risks involved in covering that position. It shows both his tactical awareness and his commitment to the safety of his fellow officers and the community. It’s harrowing to think about what he must have been feeling in those moments, yet he proceeded as duty called. The level of courage and selflessness required to take on such roles every day is beyond words. His loss is felt deeply, but his fearless actions that day are a testament to his character, and it’s a powerful reminder of the sacrifices law enforcement officers make. For those who knew him, I imagine his memory is a cherished reminder of what it means to serve with integrity and honor. Keeping Deputy Hayes and all those who risk their lives in my thoughts. Stay safe out there, everyone.
