I've been thinking a lot about the young boy who was arrested in connection with Doniesha's murder. It's just so tragic on all sides. It breaks my heart to see someone so young already getting involved in such serious crimes. It raises so many complicated questions about how we, as a society, are addressing youth violence. In Doniesha's case, not only did we lose a beautiful soul who had so much ahead of her, but there's also this 13-year-old whose life is now forever changed. What kind of environment or circumstances lead to a child feeling like this is a path they should take? I really hope this case opens up more discussions on how to prevent these situations and provides some kind of constructive way forward. I'm sending all my love to Doniesha’s family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
