It’s puzzling and sad to think about Kevin Persad's disappearance. I’ve always been an avid swimmer, and hearing about cases like this just brings the reality of ocean unpredictability to light. Fort De Soto is a beautiful spot, but those currents can be deceptive. I wonder if there were any warnings about conditions that day? It’s frightening how quickly things can go wrong, even when you’re with a friend. I’m particularly struck by the fact that Kevin seemed like he had a promising future ahead of him, with his fashion aspirations and everything. The fact that they never found him makes closure so difficult for his loved ones. My heart goes out to his family. It’s a devastating ongoing mystery.
