I’ve been thinking about the impact domestic violence has, not just on the immediate victims but on the children and families left behind. In the case of Kennitha LaBoard, it’s difficult to imagine the trauma her three children must be experiencing. Losing both parents in such a violent way is something no child should endure. From what I’ve read, the family had some underlying tensions, but it seems like no one expected this tragic result. It really makes me wonder how such situations can escalate so severely without more apparent warning signs. Why do you think warning signs in domestic disputes often go unnoticed, and how can we as a community do better in supporting families before things reach a boiling point? My heart goes out to those kids and the entire LaBoard family. I hope they find the support they need to cope with such an unimaginable loss.
Has anyone else been following the LaBoard-Goss-Frasier case out of Wadmalaw Island? I've been thinking a lot about how this affected their three children. Losing both parents in such a traumatic way must be tearing them apart. I can't even begin to imagine the pain and confusion they're going through right now. I hope they have a strong support system surrounding them during this time. If anyone knows more about how the community is rallying around these kids, please share. It’s in times like these that we need to come together and support those left behind in any way we can.
