I've been reflecting on the courage it must have taken for Casey Lee Scruggs to not only survive that horrific ordeal but also to face the people who did this to her and Carey in court. Her testimony was a crucial part of ensuring justice for Carey, and it's beyond admirable. It's hard to imagine the strength it would take to relive such a traumatic experience in front of everyone, including the perpetrators. I really hope she's found some measure of peace and support from the community in the aftermath of such a brutal event. Nothing can truly undo the damage done, but the resilience she's shown is truly inspiring. Sending thoughts to her and Carey’s family during what must still be such a difficult time.
