Does anyone know if there were any currents or weather changes reported in the Molokini Crater area on June 11, 2013? I wonder how much those factors could play a role in someone disappearing while snorkeling. It seems like an area frequented by many tourists, so any unusual conditions might have been noticed by other snorkelers or boat operators. Maybe Paul Blackburn wasn't familiar with the local waters and underestimated some of the risks. If anyone has experience snorkeling there, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how quickly conditions can change and what safety precautions could help in such scenarios.
Has anyone else been curious about Paul Blackburn’s work connections? I find it interesting that he was a leader at Caterpillar Inc. and also lived in Beijing at one point. I’m wondering if his international work contacts or his experiences in engineering might have given him a unique perspective or skills that could have been helpful during the incident. Could it be possible that he could have tried to swim to safety given his background? Not saying there's anything suspicious, but it just adds additional layers to his life. I wonder if his work colleagues have ever come forward to discuss his disappearance or share insights about him. Has anyone come across any interviews or articles where they might have tried to keep his story alive? It’s so tragic how someone can just vanish like that, even after such an intensive search effort. Let me know if you’ve found any updates on this front.
