I've been looking into Derrick Dewayne Bussey Jr.'s case, and one thing that really sticks out to me is how his friends described him. It sounds like he was someone who really put others first and would help out whenever he could. It's tough to imagine the impact of losing a friend like that—someone who always had your back. It must be incredibly difficult for those who knew him to wrap their heads around such a senseless act of violence. I can't help but think about his little one growing up without their dad. It just brings home how crucial it is for communities to push back against this wave of violence and hold each other up during these hard times. Has anyone heard about any local initiatives that might have started up in Derrick's memory to tackle this issue?
