Hey everyone,
I've been following the tragic case of Tarekus Goss, and it's just so deeply unsettling to think about what his family and community are going through. One thing that stood out to me is the courage of the individuals who tried to help right after the shooting happened. In these chaotic and dangerous moments, it's clear some folks really put themselves on the line to try and provide assistance to both Tarekus and the injured infant.
It makes me wonder about the mental toll such incidents take on the witnesses and first responders who came forward immediately. I can’t imagine the trauma they've had to process after witnessing such violence firsthand. Support for these individuals—so often unsung heroes—is crucial, yet it seems not much is discussed about their need for counseling and community support afterward.
Does anyone have insights or experiences on how witness support has been handled in similar cases? It would be great to hear how these unsung heroes can be appropriately supported too.
Sending thoughts to the family and hoping for justice soon. Stay safe, everyone.
