It's been years, but the tragedy of Daniel Hernandez’s murder still lingers in our minds. I was thinking about the role of bystanders and witness testimonies in this case. In particular, I’ve read that there were some folks who heard or saw bits and pieces of what happened leading up to that terrible night. It's incredibly brave for anyone to step forward and I can only imagine how tough it must have been for those individuals to testify in court. Their contributions no doubt played a pivotal role in ensuring justice was served. Does anyone here have insights on what kind of support systems are in place for witnesses in situations like this? It’s not easy to relive traumatic events, and the fear of retaliatory violence might weigh heavily on them. I’m grateful for their courage and am curious how communities help support such brave individuals through these times.
