I can't stop thinking about the families involved. I live near the area and remember hearing about the incident when it happened. It's a place where you wouldn't expect something so violent to occur, but here we are. Joshua had just moved to Greenville; imagine the promise and hope he must've had starting fresh in a new city, only for his life to be cut short in such a traumatic way. It breaks my heart to think of the pain his loved ones are going through. His family is in Dillon, so I imagine the distance makes this even harder for them as they grapple with this loss. I also wonder what the friends and families of both Joshua and Kahlil are feeling, knowing that one young life was lost and another drastically altered. It's a reminder of the far-reaching consequences of violence and how it affects everyone involved.
