Was anyone else struck by how young Samquan Frazier was when he was taken from this world? Although there's a sort of closure with Javeris Tremane Williams finally being sentenced, I can't help but think about the life Samquan never got to live. At just 17, he had his whole future ahead of him. It's deeply saddening to think about what he could have achieved and the experiences he was robbed of. His family must carry that loss with them every day. As someone who's followed the case closely, I hope they find some comfort knowing justice was served, but I imagine that hole in their lives can never truly be filled.

I’ve been following the tragic case of Samquan Frazier and what really strikes me is the heartbreaking role that greed seems to have played in his untimely death. It’s haunting to think that a night which could have been a celebration of good fortune turned into such a nightmare, all because of an apparent robbery. Samquan was only 17, with his whole life ahead of him. Knowing that his last moments were filled with fear and betrayal by those he thought he could be around is chilling. Identifying his attacker before he passed shows so much strength, and it’s pivotal that he did. It’s a relief to know that justice was ultimately served and Javeris Williams won’t be able to harm anyone else. My thoughts really go out to Samquan's family and friends, who have had to endure such a painful loss and lengthy journey to justice. No family should have to go through something like this.
