I recently came across this tragic case, and my heart goes out to Overton Deshan Good's family during this incredibly difficult time. I can't stop thinking about how brave Overton was to confront the intruders at his doorstep. It's devastating to think he was trying to protect his home and ended up losing his life in such a senseless act. This situation really sheds light on the unpredictable dangers that can arise even in places where we should feel safest. The arrests of Shaun Rogers Jr. and Jermaine Jefferies bring some semblance of justice, but it doesn't erase the pain or the loss for Overton's loved ones. I hope the awareness around this case contributes to a deeper conversation about gun violence and safety in our communities. Overton should be remembered for his courage, and we owe it to him to push for change so that others don't have to endure similar tragedies.
