Did anyone else feel really disturbed by the fact that Heath was already out on bond for a previous domestic violence charge against Shanijela? It’s so gut-wrenching to think about how many red flags there were. Just think about the fear and uncertainty Shanijela must have been living with knowing she was carrying Heath’s child. This is not just about a single failure in the system, but a series of let-downs that culminated in such a horrifying tragedy. My heart truly goes out to her family and the other victims in this situation. It's a painful reminder that we need to push for stronger protections for those in potentially dangerous situations. It feels like justice keeps getting compromised when it shouldn’t. What more can we do to prevent this from happening again?
