I’ve been following Rico Jemel Johnson’s case since it happened, and it's just so tragic how everything unfolded. Something that’s been on my mind is the nature of the initial disagreement between Rico and Scipio. It wasn’t detailed much in the trial coverage, but I can’t help but wonder if more could have been done earlier that day to deescalate things. Was there no one who noticed things getting heated and tried to step in? It’s tough to think that a disagreement ended with such a devastating loss of life. My heart goes out to Rico’s family and friends. Dealing with such a sudden and violent loss must've been incredibly hard for them. I hope they are finding peace, even if it’s just a little, in knowing Scipio's conviction ensures some justice has been served.
