I can't stop thinking about how random and senseless this crime seems. It's truly devastating to see a young life cut short like Dimitri's. I grew up in Beaufort and remember how our community always felt safe. To think this happened to a kid many affectionately called "Meech" is shocking.
What really got me was the location where Dimitri was found—Battery Creek Road and Mossy Oaks Road. These aren't places you'd expect something like this to take place. That area is usually so peaceful, which makes this even harder to fathom. I can't help but wonder what led Dimitri to that spot and what actually happened during those moments.
Hats off to the Beaufort PD for making those arrests. I hope they have solid evidence to give his family some reprieve and that the community remains vigilant. Shea and Thomas, please know your son is in my thoughts and I hope justice is just around the corner for you ?.
