I’ve been thinking a lot about the community's response to this terrible event. It's so tragic that Lacy Boyd and Robert Finch lost their lives in such a senseless act. From what neighbors have said, Lacy was really cherished in the neighborhood and was known by so many. It's heartening to see how much support people are showing her son and family right now. It must be unbelievably tough to lose someone in such a violent way, and even harder when it's followed by such a public and chaotic aftermath. I find it really concerning how the escalation led to the officer-involved shooting. I know there’s been a lot of discussion about these incidents on a state level, and it makes me wonder if these confrontations could be handled differently. Given that this was the second officer-involved shooting in Aiken County that year, it seems like this community is deeply affected by these kinds of events more than we maybe realize. It's important to keep discussing how these situations can be managed to prevent further trauma. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy. ?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that these tragic events have on small communities like Graniteville. It's so important that we remember Lacy Boyd and Robert Finch not just as victims of a crime, but as members of a tight-knit neighborhood that’s been deeply affected by their loss. Lacy’s role as a mother and a long-time resident speaks volumes to the kind of person she was – someone who left a mark on those around her. The whole incident is a stark reminder of how quickly life can change, and it’s heartbreaking to think about the family gatherings that will be missing two beloved members. I can't help but feel for Lacy's son, having to navigate through such a devastating loss. It's a collective mourning for those that reside there, and it seems like everyone is still in shock, trying to make sense of it all. With the ongoing investigation, I hope there’s some justice and closure for their loved ones and the community. It’s crucial that these cases are handled with care and transparency, given the complex nature of officer-involved shootings in recent years. Sending strength to everyone affected by this tragedy.
