I was reading through old news articles about the Rock Hill tragedy, and one thing that really lingered in my mind was how well-known and loved Dr. Robert Lesslie and his family were in their community. It’s truly astonishing how a family so deeply involved in serving and helping others could be taken away in such a senseless manner. Dr. Lesslie was known for his compassionate care, and I came across stories of patients who spoke about how he truly made a difference in their lives. It’s so hard to see such kind souls lost to such violence. I just keep thinking about how this small community must feel such a gaping void with the Lesslie family gone. My heart aches for everyone affected—family, friends, and the many who undoubtedly cherished them. Has anyone else from the area felt this ripple effect or is involved in community healing efforts?
I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact CTE might have had on Phillip Adams and how it possibly played a role in such a devastating event. It’s haunting to think this condition, linked to repeated head injuries, might have pushed him towards such violence. The fact that young lives like Noah and Adah, along with their grandparents, were caught in this tragedy makes it all the more painful to process.
I hope this event brings about greater awareness and stronger support systems for those potentially suffering from CTE or other mental health challenges. It shouldn't take something this tragic for us to take notice and provide help. My heart goes out to the Lesslie family and everyone in the Rock Hill community. No one should have to endure such loss.
