Just came across this case and I can't stop thinking about Carlisle's dedication to his studies and the bright future he had ahead of him. As someone who's had close friends in the IB program, I know how intense and demanding it can be. Balancing that alongside sports like soccer, ultimate frisbee, and cross country is no small feat. He clearly had a drive that’s admirable and was well on his way to making a difference, studying Electrical Engineering at USC.
It's so tragic that all his hard work was cut short in such a senseless way. I hope his story pushes for more conversations about gun violence, especially among young people. Sending strength to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. It’s important we remember Carlisle for who he was and what he strived to be, not just as a victim of this violence.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the role that social media might have played in Carlisle's tragic situation. It's so devastating to see such a bright young person like Carlisle, who had such a promising future ahead of him, lost way too soon.
I can't help but wonder if there were any warning signs on platforms that got overlooked. You hear stories nowadays about cryptic messages or heated exchanges that take place online before something awful happens. This case makes me wonder if there were any subtle hints or interactions that could have suggested there was trouble brewing.
Whether it's friends, family, or peers, I think it’s worth reminding everyone of the importance of keeping an eye on these things, especially when it comes to the youth in our communities. If something seems off, it's always better to over-share with authorities or community leaders than not say anything at all.
Let's keep supporting the Kelly family and stay vigilant in our fight against this kind of senseless violence. Sending love and strength to everyone affected by Carlisle's tragic passing.
Take care everyone.
It's truly devastating to think about how a promising young life was cut short in such a violent manner. I've been reflecting on the role of technology in this case, specifically the cell phone that was left behind and ultimately helped link the suspects to Carlisle's tragic death.
In many cases, technology seems to be a double-edged sword. On one hand, digital footprints can provide crucial evidence that brings perpetrators to justice, as seen here. It feels somewhat reassuring that investigators have these tools at their disposal to track down those responsible. On the other hand, I can’t help but wonder about the negative influence technology and social media might have had leading up to such encounters. Could it have played a role in setting up this ill-fated meeting?
I think it's worth considering how we, as a community, can educate younger generations about the responsibilities that come with technology usage. Knowing how to navigate these digital spaces safely might prevent similar situations in the future. My heart goes out to Carlisle's family and friends—I hope they find some measure of peace as justice unfolds.
