I’ve been following the news about the tragic death of Preston Hickman Sr., and my heart goes out to his family and the entire Darlington community. It’s so unsettling to think that two juveniles are involved in something so violent. I can’t help but wonder about the circumstances that led these young people down such a dark path. It’s alarming to see how these incidents can affect small communities so deeply, leaving everyone with so many unanswered questions. I hope the ongoing investigation by the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office and SLED provides some clarity and comfort to those mourning. Has there been any discussion yet on community forums about possible preventative measures for youth violence? It seems crucial to address this issue to prevent future tragedies. Sending strength and support to all those impacted by this terrible event.
