I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this tragedy has had on the community, especially around Club Apex. It’s devastating to think that Roberto wouldn't have lost his life if there had been better security measures in place. Bars and clubs should be safe spaces where people can enjoy themselves without fear. The fact that an altercation escalated to such an extreme degree really makes you question the protocols that were—or weren’t—in place.
It’s not just about assigning blame but about learning from this. How can we make sure something like this doesn’t happen again? I hope there are serious discussions happening about how venues can improve security and ensure the safety of their patrons. Roberto’s family deserves that much, at least. My heart goes out to them and to everyone who has felt the ripple effect of his unjust loss.
