I’ve been thinking a lot about Candice Brown and how she and Jessica Johnson were both taken so senselessly. I didn’t know Candice personally, but I’ve heard from mutual friends how caring and vibrant she was. It’s just so difficult to comprehend these moments when an act of such violence forever changes the lives of families and communities. I also can’t stop thinking about the survivor in the car. The trauma they must be dealing with is unimaginable. It’s truly distressing knowing they witnessed such horror and yet remain without answers or justice. I hope they can receive the support and care they need as the investigation progresses. I hope anyone reading this who might have seen or heard something, even if it seems small, will reach out to law enforcement. Jessica and Candice deserve justice, and their families deserve peace. Keeping the community, and all who knew them, in my thoughts.
