I’ve been reading through everything about the tragic loss of Michelle Chavis and Constance Sierra Kerns, and my heart is just aching for their families. I was really moved by something in the sentencing – when Constance's mother spoke about the ripple effects of this senseless act. I can’t imagine the enormity of her pain, losing her daughter and husband, and now having to navigate life while raising her grandchildren. These stories really strike at our shared sense of vulnerability. It’s hard not to feel for the Dillon County community as well, grappling with the growing anxiety over safety. How do communities come together and rebuild after experiencing such trauma? It’s an awful reminder of the violence in the world, but maybe it can also spur some vital conversations about healing and prevention. What are your thoughts on supporting affected communities and families through such unimaginable losses?
