I can't stop thinking about the challenges that rural settings impose on investigations like the tragic case of Dena Michelle Thames. It’s so troubling to think about how much harder it must be for authorities to piece together what happened without the usual stuff like CCTV or eyewitness accounts that you’d get in a city. Her case was in such an isolated area, it drives home the point of how detectives have to work extra hard to track down leads. Also, I can only imagine how tough it's been for Dena’s friends and family knowing that there were so few leads at the beginning. It's a relief to see that the persistence from the police finally paid off and that arrests have been made, but it must have been such a frustrating wait for those who loved her. I truly hope that anyone out there who knows anything else will come forward, even the smallest bit of info could be vital. Sending strength to her loved ones. ?️
