I came across an overlooked detail in Tyrell Scarborough's case that has been on my mind a bit. During the altercation at the Circle K, it was reported that a young child was also present and fired upon, though thankfully not injured. This aspect is often overshadowed by the tragic loss of Tyrell, but I can't help but think about the long-lasting impact on that child. Can you imagine how terrifying it must have been for them to witness such violence at such a young age? I hope they’re receiving the care and support they need because exposure to violence can have deep emotional and psychological effects. It's crucial for communities to rally around young witnesses like this child to ensure they have the tools they need to process what happened. The entire situation just underscores the necessity of addressing the root causes of violence in our communities to prevent future tragedies.
