I've been following the case of Janare Fletcher, and I just can't stop thinking about the role community safety plays in our lives. It's so hard to imagine a place where kids like Janare and Ny'Miere grow up surrounded by such violence. It shouldn't be normal for young lives to be shattered like this, and yet, here we are dealing with another tragic event. It seems like the community is deeply affected, not just emotionally but also in terms of their sense of security. I'm inspired by Janare's mom, Cierra Fletcher, for her efforts to promote peace and safety. Her strength and determination to rally the community for change give me hope that maybe, just maybe, this incident will spark a real movement to prevent further loss. Anyone else involved in these community efforts or know of similar initiatives elsewhere?
