It's surreal how quickly life can change and leave behind a void that seems impossible to fill. I recently read about how Deputy Austin Aldridge was ambushed while simply doing his job—responding to what seemed like a routine call. It's just a reminder of how dangerous law enforcement can be and the courage it takes to step into the unknown every day. I also can’t stop thinking about his wife, Jessica, who was pregnant at the time. I can't imagine the pain and confusion she must have gone through, having to suddenly navigate the future without her husband while preparing to become a parent. It's a profound loss not just for her, but for the entire community. The strength she must have had to find during such an unimaginable time is just something else. In times like these, it's so important for us as a community to rally around the families of those who serve and protect us, especially when such sacrifices are made.
