Deputy Austin Derek Aldridge, a 25-year-old officer with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on June 21, 2022. Aldridge was responding to a domestic disturbance call in the Oak Forest subdivision in Spartanburg County when he was ambushed and shot. The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. as he approached the residence.
