Does anyone else find it unsettling how quiet things have gotten regarding the civil lawsuits in the case of Derek Smith? It's truly hard to imagine the ongoing ordeal his family is facing, not just with the criminal case but having to pursue civil justice too. Their fight for accountability must be emotionally draining. I genuinely hope these lawsuits can bring some measure of relief or closure to his loved ones. Anyone with experience or insights on how these processes usually play out in such circumstances? It's just disheartening to see a family go through all of this on top of losing someone so dear.
