Hey everyone,
I've been following Timothy Janes' case for a while, and something that keeps bugging me is the gap between his disappearance in 2017 and when his case was entered into NamUs in June 2019. Does anyone know why there was such a delay in reporting him missing to this national database? It seems like these first months or years can be crucial in missing persons cases. Was it due to some procedural issues, or maybe because of jurisdictional hurdles?
I wonder if this delay has impacted the chances of finding new leads in his case, or if it's a common issue others have run into with NamUs and similar databases. If anyone has insights or similar experiences, I'd love to hear about it. Trying to understand how we might raise awareness to avoid such lags in future cases.
Hey everyone, I’ve been following Timothy Janes' case for a while and something’s been bugging me. It seems like there wasn't much urgency when he was first reported missing. It took nearly two years for his case to get entered into NamUs! Does anyone know why there was such a delay? I know sometimes it takes longer with adults since there's that whole ‘right to disappear’ thing, but it still seems odd to me given how much his family has been pushing for information. Could it have impacted the investigation? Any thoughts or similar cases with delays like this that could shine a light on why it might've happened?
