I’ve been following Christy’s case and can’t stop thinking about her children. It’s so difficult to comprehend the amount of trauma they’ve experienced, losing their mother in such a horrible way and being present during that awful event. I can’t imagine the courage it took for the older ones to run and seek help—it might have been the hardest thing they’ve ever done. I wonder about the impact this event will have on them as they grow up. Are there any local support groups for children who’ve gone through similar situations? I truly hope they receive not just immediate support, but also long-term counseling and care from loved ones and professionals alike. Christy seemed to be a loving mom, and it’s heartbreaking to think of how their lives have been changed forever. Sending all my love and thoughts to the little ones and to everyone who knew and loved Christy.
