I recently found myself going down the rabbit hole of the Linda Shawn Casey case, and something that struck me was the awful irony of the wine bottle potentially being used as both a weapon and a tool for entry. It's chilling to think that something so ordinary could be twisted into an instrument of horror. Linda was only 31 and had her whole life ahead of her. It's devastating to realize that this vile act robbed her family and friends of a person they loved dearly. While the notion of the BTK connection was a focus for a time, it's startling how little solid evidence steers us to any suspect. The fact that this case remains unsolved after all these years is a stark reminder of how justice sometimes moves at a glacial pace. I'm hopeful that with advancements in forensic technology and a little luck, some new leads might surface that will finally bring closure. My heart goes out to Linda's loved ones who have had to live with this uncertainty for too long.
